Senior Supt. Gerardo Rosales, city police director, said police found members of the group inside Room 208 of De Oro Capitol Inn.

He said Rabanes, another suspect, would be charge for concealing his true identity.
Rosales said the other suspects had pending arrest warrants. Merafuentes was slapped with an arrest warrant for robbery in Tangub City while Gamos was wanted in Molave, Zamboanga del Sur, also for robbery.

Rosales said he could not say if the group had a hand in the series of robbery cases in the city.

"Our first impression is that this group is just part of the organized group," according to Rubas.

Rubas said the operation was carried out as part of the police's effort against robbers.

"Galabad na among ulo ani. Gasunod-sunod ang robbery cases pero wala kami nagpasagad sa among trabaho," said Rubas.
He said authorities were working against another group believed to be a part of a crime syndicate from western Mindanao.
Meanwhile, police also announced the arrest of a suspected robber following a month of surveillance operations nin Barangay 34.

Rosales identified the suspect as Benjie Talja, 23, of Luscayon, Kimaya, Jasaan, Misamis Oriental.

Rosales said Talja had a warrant of arrest for illegal detention issued by a court in Iligan City.
