Bernad: No thumbs up for Ocampos

MISAMIS Occidental governor Loreto Leo Ocampos may have gained the backing of Senator Nonoy Aquino’s Liberal Party in his quest for the congressional post in the May elections, but not necessarily the support of Ozamiz City Vice-Mayor Carlos Patricio ‘Kaloy’ Bernad, LP’s provincial chair.

In an interview over dxDD-AM, Bernad said that he is disappointed of Ocampos’ membership for he was not consulted by the LP’s central office.

Bernad uttered that he received calls from the LP informing him that Ocampos is already taken its oath as Misamis Occidental 2nd District standard bearer.
“Lipay na lang sad ko nga gi-inform ko nila, sa ato pa wala na pangayoa ang akong recommendations diretso na lang gidawat didto,” Bernad added.

If he has given the time to evaluate Ocampos request, he will give his negative views to the governor.

He added that Ocampos has a loyalty problem to his former political party (LAKAS-KAMPI-CMD) and he doesn’t want that the same might happen to the LP.
Bernad felt that he was ‘bypass’ of the governor’s entry where he was not consulted by the LP’s central office.

“Ang normal process man gud, moagi sa akoa isip chairman sa province siguro tungod kay incumbent governor siya ug presidente pa gyud sa League of governors mao nga ilang gikonsidera,” Bernad said.

Although he will not question the governor’s entry, Bernad asserted not to back up Ocampos for the congressional post instead he vows favor to Ozamiz City mayor Reynaldo ‘Aldong’ Parojinog, Sr., from Lakas as guest candidate.

Councilor Maria Constancia ‘Connie’ Lim cannot expect thumbs up from Bernad for he already gave his word to councilor Nova Princess Parojinog-Echavez for the mayoralty position.(NEPTALIE BATOLENIO)
